He behaved as if it were gone. That tantalising vulnerability that made Bradley so seductive - tempering his silliness and his occasional ignorance, soothing the sometime cluelessness that stung people but devastated Bradley when he realised it had. But it was all an illusion. Colin’s rejection hadn’t sucked Bradley’s vulnerability dry; it had driven it inwards. That was what rippled beneath Bradley’s sun-polished surface, clouded his eyes and stilled his hand. Beneath his immaculate shell, Bradley James hurt. That is so heartbreakingly beautiful!

And the ending! OMG you're gonna kill me!

Thank you for picking this out...I worked rather hard at that description of Bradley, so I'm glad you liked it. :)
(And I know you made it to the end without me killing you!)

*flails* God, this is so heartbreakingly beautiful. The scene with Bradley and Katie was haunting; I loved the image you painted of Bradley and his vulnerability. Then the drama and angst of the end! Thank goodness, I can just skip along to the next chapter.

Thank you...and don't even start me on Bradley's vulnerability...! So pleased it struck a chord.

The bar scene was intense and I enjoyed how all the conversation was washing around the two men who were so intimately involved in Bradley leaving. Katie actually confronting Bradley and wanting to hear his side of the story was lovely. There are singed bridges, but it's still not clear who lit them on fire and who wants them repaired.

The choreography of the fight was also entertaining and now that Bradley's hurt maybe he'll be stunned enough to have to lie still and listen to Colin's reasons for fucking everything up. I'm not holding my breath.

I'm loving your comments along the way and how cross you are at the pair of them! It's just great to hear someone so invested in the reading - thank you!
