I am quite a fan of this 'snow,' but I have been wondering... How long until it is warm, once more?

Today the sun was very bright, yet it was still cold! Why? I had thought that the sun made it warm.

You've never seen 'winter,' Nia?

Not as such. Does it happen often?

There are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each one happens once a year.

Winter happens all the time. It's when things get really cold. Sometimes there's snow, but that depends on where you live.

How complex...

I know of years, but not of seasons.

I haven't been here a full year, so I'm not sure when the snow will stop, but it will thaw eventually.

You don't come from a place where it snows in December?

I am not sure. It is possible that it snows where I am from.

... How do you not know whether it snows where you come from?

The sun likes to trick people like that sometimes! Man I remember some of the days when the sun's the brightest it's actually coldest. Something or other about cloud cover. I can never remember the reason.

[Have a blank look Nia. Yuffie's not sure she understands. She doesn't understand that people might not know about these kinds of things.]

Uhhhhhh............

What don't you get?

[You can hear the shiver in his voice. S-sob this is not like winter in L.A.]

Can't tell for sure but usually sometime around April, I think. [If she doesn't know what winter is...would she know what April is...?] That's in a few months. Honestly I hope it warms up sooner-- I'm not used to snow.

Goodness, what a long time... I had not expected it to last so long.

It-- [sneeze!] It might not last as long here. I'm not sure how seasons work in Johto but so far they seem to be consistent with the ones where I'm from. Well not exactly where I'm from, but in parts of my home country.

You never saw winter before, Nia-san?

The sun normally does make things warm, but because of the axis of the Earth, it doesn't do it as well in winter. It'll only last a few months--until March, I think. But Johto might be different from my world.
