Still sick. If anything, I'm sicker. Yesterday, there was just a little bit of cough. Today, there's full-fledged cough. We are not amused.

There was no work for Lane yesterday, and since he's currently temping there (at the company that fired him twice), that means he was invited to take the day off. Ugh. That's two days this week he didn't ( Read more... )

The Spirit Thief, eh? Looked it up on Amazon - it looks fun!! Alas, the library doesn't have it, but I'm adding it to my Amazon list to remember it.

Are you willing to try to some science fiction? Then I'd recommend Connie Willis' To Say Nothing of the Dog, or if your local library has a copy, Sherwood Smith's Crown Duel & Court Duel. They're also available together in one volume as Crown Duet. It's YA fantasy but I'm reading it right now and really love it.

I didn't like The Dress Lodger and I think it mostly had to do with writing. Isn't it in second person present tense? I found it was off-putting.

Oh, I love sci-fi. I've read the Willis one. I have not read Sherwood Smith. I just checked, and the library has them, so I'll have to grab them this weekend! Thanks!

Ah, feel better soon. I'm trying to think of something fun for you to read. It doesn't help that my tendency when I'm depressed is to wallow in the mega-depressing (because, when I feel that way, anything else is LIES! LIES I TELL YOU!!!!!). Have you read Sacred Games yet, by Vikram Chandra? That is huge fun, although the untranslated Hindi words are a little tricky at first.

I wish this was happen in U.S. as well (not just U.K and Ireland). Also it would great if the number of titles were expanding.

Wow, that's really cool! It's sad that I don't predict the US version any time too soon...
