i can't help but think that this could be something telling us that some of the things we call "abnormalities" and "illnesses" and "defect" could actually be a step in evolution merely unfinished.

Sorry to just post in your journal, but fumanchaw recomended you to me because I have some interests that he said you may be able to relate to. I told him of my desire to get back into my "spiritual growth" but it's hard because I tend to lean tword the darker side of things. I asked him if he could recomend any books or such and what he recomended was you :) So hi.

what up, glad to have you post. what are you looking for? and why are you looking for it? i would be glad to reccommend some buddhist material, or virtually any mystical writer in any religious tradition. you might read about John of the Cross and the "dark night of the soul" type it into google and you will get some info. Alan Watts has some good insights into darkness and spirituality. feel free to ask any question. peace, mike

I saw something similar used on a stroke patient left paralyzed. He could move a cursor around a monitor and select different pre-selected phrases based on pictures to inform nurses of his status (such as if he was cold or thirsty) and he could also type out customized messages. The goal, his doctor said, was to put him on the internet so he could interact with all sorts of people. I can't remember if that included invasive surgery or not, though.
