I usually follow the community
adayinmylife. I wanted to do one, so I tried doing one the day I left for Friday Harbor. Wellll once I finally got to see Adam, after 10 hours of travelling, I kind of forgot about it. But I'm posting the first half of my day, and all of my travels, here:
I wake up, 2 hours after going to bed.
Clearly, I am not impressed. But I'm secretly enthusiastic!
Shower time, kids.
Out of the shower. I think I was half dead.
Dressed! Whenever I fly, I wear skirts since they're most comfortable.
Time check.
I told Adam I'd wear make up when I saw him, just because during the whole time we've been dating (and have known each other) I haven't worn makeup. So, unthrilled, I pulled out my really old makeup and put it on. Even when I wear makeup, I hardly wear any.
Packed and ready to go! Check out my sweet bag. I love it.
I'm being picked up at 3:45am!
ACK, I almost forgot to water my plants! I usually have odd dreams (probably due to my lack of use of creativity due to academic work), and I dreamt that a snake was in my tallest avocado tree and that apple trees sprouted out of my arms. When I returned to Milwaukee, I had found that 3 apple trees had sprouted and my tallest avocado, which was not doing well for a while, had started to die.
Comfort is the key when travelling! I'm now sitting, waiting for my flight.
We take off at 5:30am for St. Louis.
I decide to eat the only snack I brought. These are icky :(
Outside the plane window! Smallest plane I've been on yet. Awesome!
We've landed in St. Louis!
First thing I do: eat. I didn't want to go to Starbucks, but it was the only option =/
The plane I'll fly from STL to SEA!
CNN -- talking about the UN and Darfur. Don't get me started on the UN. I called my mom to bitch about the UN for about 20 minutes at this point.
Waiting to take off.
Yes!
Time check.
Deicing the wings.
Taking off!
St. Louis.
They showed Happy Feet on the flight! I watched most of it, but then fell asleep with my mouth wide open. I was quite impressed.
Time check again.
More music.
I love flying. The Earth is so beautiful.
This is what I do pretty much the whole time I fly. I've flown over the same place a lot, but it gets more and more beautiful every time.
Another time check.
:)
Democracy Now! Perfect.
This is sideways I think. Still, beautiful.
UWM Post crossword puzzle.
Mt. St. Helens (back) and Mt. Rainer.
Seattle looks so little!
Puget Sound
Landing!
Time check. I got text messages from Adam and Shannon!
Seatac. I spent a night in this airport once. See entry
here. Kinda.
I thought I turned this around. Hm! Airporter -- headed to Mt. Vernon from Seatac!
Time check again. Bus leaves at noon!
Another time check, still on bus. Phone is dying!
Mount Vernon! From here I get to go to Anacortes and meet my love at the ferry terminal :)
There he is! This is actually days later. hehe
There I am, by a huge maple.
Remember that tree? If not,
see here. Being cut into boards. It's amazing -- like Adam says, this tree grew for hundreds of years... and then a 23 year old comes and cuts it into boards. Weird.
Both of us looking awkward... the day before I left :(
OK, that's it!
