First, thank you Lily, Anny/Mike and Tong Hong for helping me in the phototaking. They are all good shots! Jon wouldn't have any memories if not for you :)
Also, thank you for those who came and endure the 'hot' park as Anny described and your presence and gift.
This year, I decided to give Jon a Ben 10 Birthday Party. Yes, I DECIDED. If I let Jon choose, he will drive me nuts again with all his suggestion. I know he loves Ben 10 - his latest craze and it's easier getting Ben10 stuff for goody bag. The only thing he requested was he wanted to invite his classmates for the party and a pinata.
Pinata is the biggest challenge for me cause I had to find materials soft enough so that it will burst opened easily and hard enough so that it will not tear easily. Really thank Shari's sisters for giving me an idea for a pull string pinata instead, when I saw theirs at Rodridgue's party. In the end, I just printed a few Ben 10 pictures to paste around a A4 paper carton box, decorated with streamers, opened a trap door and decorate the base with ribbons.

We had the party outdoor at a BBQ pit near our block. I love this area as it has a big open area for the kids to run about, a carpark nearby and two sheltered area. The area was recently upgraded with a lovely playground which the kids had fun climbing that they refused to cooperate when I want them to have some party games.
Jon's little guests, lovely photos by Mike
The boys just attack the playground and refused to leave it for dinner or party games. It was really difficult rounding up the little 'monkeys'

They only gathered when it was time for the pinata

With his friends - some like Caleb and his classmates had left earlier
Jaz loves the role of cake cutting. I must highlight that she was a great help that day, serving food to the guests, looking after my in-laws and Jon and came to the BBQ pit with me earlier to blow balloons and decorate the area.
We ended the party late since the kids didn't wish to leave and we were thankful of great parents who were willing to stay behind even though they were hot and sticky.
I was glad that everything turned out well, thank God that He kept the dark clouds away when it threaten to rain with thunder and strong wind. Another testimony to dh that God indeed answered prayers. Though I grumbled lots when I was planning the party, getting the goody bags etc, I enjoyed putting things together and making everything as perfect as possible. It was satisfaction when I saw how Jon and the kids enjoyed themselves.
