And this when I was just this morning trying to figure out what to do about the delicate balance between having food to eat these last six days and throwing everything away when I leave the country so not wanting to waste food.
A delicate balance indeed. Can you buy, like, a day's worth of food every day at whatever the Japanese equivalent of a convenience store may be, if you have those?
The Japanese equivalent of a convenience store is a convenience store (conbini in Japanese). The closest to my apartment is a 7-11 and I can, indeed, do that. The problem is I have a couple of staples left that I'm just not going to be able to burn my way through. Ah well.

And, hmm. Do they have a food shelf or something, if your remaining staples are nonperishable?
I have great faith in your figuring-it-out abilities. :)
