The new office building has no exterior walls, just windows. completely interchangeable, i believe. maybe it's kind of like "color" and "colour." depends on which continent you're on.

According to Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org), "gray" is more common in American English, though the two spellings are technically interchangeable. So there.
