Australian shop hours (yes, again)

It would probably be a lot easier for me to adjust here in Australia if I were from some third world country (yes, I know, New Orleans is "third world and proud of it"). I get aggravated over some of the business practices here, such as starting all the supermarket sales (and stocking) on MONDAYS...whose brilliant idea was that? Everyone has to go

i only spent a month in america.
and i miss the rampant capitalism.
i got there and i could not wipe the smile off my face upon finding that stores were open until 10pm on a sunday night at various malls in california. i could shop whenever the desire hit me for a ridiculous amount of hours during the day!!!!!
