god Locke is fucking sick. I remember seeing his work in like 2001 and thinking "who the fuck else on the animu art internet scene can come even close to touching this...ugh im gonna go back to look at more barachan and cry wah"
ok i did know about the Gaia gig but i somehow hopped hed come back to do THIS great art and comics again.
and i know what you mean ... i found his art around 99/2000 and i thought the same. this guy was THE shit back then and introduced me to The Pixies ... he often had songs by them on some pages or in remarks and so i looked for them and listened to the songs while looking at his art. trying to understand what he was thinking while doing these pictures. crazy.
still id really like to know what he is doing ten years later ... still in Gaia land or perhpas coming back to the comic world again? ... only time can tell.
Well, Locke didn't get "hired" by Go-Gaia, he actually CREATED Go-Gaia, along with the rest of the Studio XD crew (the guys who drew Last Shot for Image Comics, etc).
I was sleeping on their couch when Yahoo! came by to buy them out and make them millionaires (which they are now, apparently).
So ya, Locke doesn't just "work on" Go-Gaia, he owns it. Hah. Pretty sure that takes up a lot of his time.
I've heard (through another soon-to-be-millionaire, MAL) that he's planned on coming "back" into comics. But I have seen nor heard anything yet :|
I would love to see him return to comics, though. If he does, it'll prolly be under his own Go-Gaia comic company or something. Hah (why DON'T they do that?)
He still hangs around comic conventions, apparently. Mebbe I'll run into him someday and hug him.

hey my gal pal and I have a debate that you can surely settle: Aves Ives. How do you pronounce his name? I say it's pronounced "A-ves I-ves" (like "a vest" and "i vest" but without the t). She pronounces it "A-ves I'vez" (Aves the same as me, but Ives like the conjunction "i've" with a z at the end)
If you can clear this matter up it'd be oh so helpful.
also, are there any Apollona No comics I can throw money at? That'd be rad.
