When you're drawing / writing / toning / lettering / designing / everything your whole graphic novel, and nobody is supporting or monitoring you (rather, they believe you will fail), you could spend 6 weeks on 3 pages, or 6 weeks finishing a book.
Since I believe I will finish it, and the people who want to watch awesome in the making believe I will finish it... I will make that a braodcasted reality, on it's road to finishing.
PS: finishing it in those 6 weeks, are to ensure the comic will come out AT ALL- THIS YEAR. That's how far in advance comics works.
i think this is a great idea, actually! i know at least the hardcore fanboy/nerdy-nerd types salivate over anything that gives them 'behind the scenes' access to how comics are made. i'd love to see something like this--it'd be like watching a live action version of Bakuman!
That sounds fucking awesome. do it. I will watch you constantly if it means that you will make art on the quick. I know a little pressure/attention can help sometimes....
yeah. I like attention from people who like to watch me.
It would be nice to get attention from people who like watching art in progress, instead of just passive attention toward the book, in the form of people who believe it will never come out. eff that.
But that's a great idea, especially the part about open peoples' eyes to this art form. Generally people seem to still think comics are the bottom tier of the art world, just under cartoons. They've no idea just how tedious and demanding the field is. Heck, I don't even know the full extent of the heartache (and the heartthrob oh yus oh yus) so I'd love to see a comic making documentary sort of thing that's not on those apparent high horse DC and Marvel dudes.
