what if we don't become who we are

It's hard to make an LJ post, because I have moved away from all my friends on LJ. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm cool up here in Brooklyn, especially true since it's currently 55 degrees, and it's like a million in the Atl. I often wish that I had moved like a normal person, pack, tell everyone, tie up loose ends. But like so many things I do ( Read more... )

I think it might be easier to make posts when you're away. Imagine yourself having to tell stories about what life is like these days to people who know you but can't see you. That's how I use it, anyway.

I've been away for so long that I don't imagine you were thinking of me when you wrote that, but on behalf of everyone in Atlanta, I bet they do realize it.

Keep writing.

Thank you Karen. You were always kind. It hurts because I feel that I have hurt people. That falls on my shoulders, and I have to deal with it. But! Hey... it's the internet. I hope you are doing well, from what I know of you, you deserve it. :)

Hey do you still have those Calc books?

Hi Becky. :) No, sorry, no books. I gave those to goodwill. Or left them with brian. And... he's probably pissed about that. =\ Anyway, you were always nice to me and I hope work and personal life is giving you all that you deserve (which is a lot). Tell your husband hi for me. I miss him. :)

I've been wondering what you've been up to/how you were doing lately! A couple of things reminded me of you recently:

I just got back from Gen Con on Sunday. That chili place, the Hard Times Cafe, apparently fell on hard times as it was gone. I was totally bummed. We didn't go drinking as we got the hotel after everything was booked up downtown, but I suspect that monkey named bar where the bartender totally squared us with free drinks is gone too.

Yesterday we all went to the Georgia Aquarium for lunch as a sort of thank-you from the Powers That Be at Turner. Whilst waiting for the shuttle bus back to Techwood, I was asking Mr. Hardy if he'd spoken to you and he said he hadn't in awhile.

And... then you pop up on LJ. :)

Good to hear you're doing well. I need to make it to the City sometime. When I do, you need to come out and meet my buddies from high school/college who are all still up in that area. I think y'all get along well.

Hey Paschoal!! Of my ATL friends, you are at the top of my "I miss him/her list!" hehe. Honestly Mr. Hardy probably thinks I'm a dick. Which would be why we haven't talked. I think of you guys all the time, and I miss you. But I have to deal with what I did, and it wasn't right. Brian didn't deserve what I did, no matter the details. He doesn't know, but I will make it up. I have to, it's the right thing to do.

As for you though, I take it you're still a web developer kickin' it in the nascar.com type area? I actually hope that you move up, and soon if you already haven't. You deserve it! Understand this... From my perspective you were a rock, a foundation. Turner needs you, and people like you. Please don't sell yourself short. Drop the "I do what I do, and I don't want to do anything else." rhetoric!!!! You need to be in charge. I'm not dumb, I saw it. Others saw it. Carve your path man, you should.

Aw. This is sweet. I'm sorry I'm always such a stressed out punk and we haven't hung out as much as we should. But I guess the punking goes both ways. HA. And Harlem and Brooklyn are so effing far apart. I think I am going to come out for your birthday show next month! Chemical Bros AND Ladytron AND it's right in your hood? It BETTER be awesome. I do have a hugeass exam the weekend after that (one of those have-to-take-to-graduate effers), so you guys better not get me too blitzed, though. Like how I try to put that responsibility on you?

I am in Athens right now and you are right, it is a million degrees. I keep seeing people's skin melt off of them into gross piles on the asphalt.

I don't have tickets yet, and am now a little freaking about how much studying I need to do in the next three weeks.

I will still surely come to the pre-partying and tell you happy birthday, but I may have to skip out on the phat beats.

I typed phat beast first.

It was fun to see you kids this weekend. I think Frisky Dingo or whatever that show is should wait til next weekend, since we can't watch the live one tonight anyway? Wanna do it on Friday or Saturday night at my place or at yours and Robin's?

Yes, I agree. The design is more like 1997. I'm glad the content is keeping some interest though! :) It will get a redesign, but they are paying me to rewrite the entire CMS. The goal is so that we can absorb (read: buy some higher traffic science sites) websites in a modular way. In fact right now I've just about completed that. And with any luck Imaginova will own some high profile sites... don't want to jinx it. Or, actually, break my contract. hehe. The competition is discovery.com, so you may know what I'm talking about.

As an aside... thanks for commenting on my profile Marsh. I wish I knew a little more about what you're doing. :)
