Isn't happiness still the ultimate objective of life? Even if someone aims for truth or success, he does so because he wants to and the endpoint of want is happiness no? i mean like why do people want? because to some degree it makes them happy and happiness is what one wants it to be. Even if a guy beats himself up and forces himself to feel sad the rest of life, he is still happy to some extent because, if he has all his senses, that's something that he chose to do because he wants to. does that make sense? oh i dunno. pondering about life boggles my mind so i'd rather just live it for now.
