Well, not the clap..... but it's really bad.

Vundo, a very nasty trojan can hop on via a security hole they have on the advertisements on the site, or some security hole. I didn't to a very in depth search about why it happened. I just know that it did.

Ah, sucks. I've been fighting the results of that particular exploit for MONTHS now. Atleast the virus didn't cause Norton to blue screen and crash the compy as soon as you logged on.

MS has a security patch to address that problem now, and you can get it through automatic updates or through The Microsoft Updates Website. Or just using Firefox should also make you immune.

Did you use Malwarebytes to clean it? If not, do you mond me asking what you did use?

It was late. I was tired. I gave up.

I had just backed up two days ago so I wiped the drive. I wish I had a better solution for you.

I found this http://vundofix.atribune.org/ after the fact. Although, even if I found it during infection the damn thing probably wouldn't have let me download it.

Yup. Completely firefox. That's all I ever use. I thought it was really strange too.
