It does sound like Tomino made some odd choices with this one, particularly the notion that the Axis fleet just packs up and heads back into space. One wonders where they think they're going, since I assume their previous asteroid base is still floating around the Earth Sphere. Any idea whether the AEUG lived up to their promise to restore the Zabi family to control of Side 3, or does Haman just give up and go home?
On the other hand, this does spare us all the agony of Gundam ZZ, which is rather considerate. :-)
Thanks. I hope it's correct though. Tomino sure crams in whole bunch of story within 100 minutes so I ended up being unsure about when Yazan killed Bask and Dogos Gear. It happened, but I can't remember if it was before or after the negotitions
( ... )
I do like the notion of Yazan killing Bask, though - it gives him something to do other than just desert the Dogosse Gier like a rat fleeing a sinking ship.
The vanishing Mowsa is interesting. Perhaps Haman managed to resettle all the civilian familes from Axis in the Earth sphere, rather than just Mineva. But I imagine they'll have a hard life ahead of them out at the fringes of the solar system if they've ditched their entire support structure... This still sounds kinda weird, and given his personality, I doubt that Tomino will do us the favor of explaining it all afterwards. So perhaps we'll have to make up our own interpretations. :-)
Speaking of Tomino, I remember seeing him make the same claim about Gundam ZZ in previous interviews. I guess a remake is out of the question, then, which is probably for the best.
