Latest scam calls - power saving

I've now had 2 calls from an Indian call centre trying to get me to buy a power saving device which 'plugs into the electricity between the meter and appliances and provides an even level of supply reducing your consumption

I find it fun to see how quickly I can get them to ring off. Husband prefers to keep them hanging on for ever, to waste their time. I haven't had the Indian power savers yet - the current ones here are all 'surveys' of one kind or another or attempts to convince me that my computer is at risk. I am constantly surprised by the number of people with clearly foreign accents who introduce themselves with very English names. Obviously there are going to be some - very, very few - Indians (for example) called Richard or Roger or whatever, but it would seem that all of them are working for call centres!
