I was so happy with the way they pulled things together. Charles is still a bastard and a bad father, but he meant well. I was really disappointed with the final developments of Marianne (Ayanami Rei, wut?), but I will still continue to cosplay her, as she's one of my favorite females from the series. She is what she is, and what that is, is a very misguided, well-meaning mother who was too obsessed with her own vision of the future to pay attention to what she was doing to her children.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, folks.
