I really don't mean to complain, but....

I believe I mentioned a short time ago (or a long time, as I've been remiss in updating) that Galen and I were undertaking a mission together.  We did.  It went smoothly.  We were able to attend a Tauri military function without drawing much attention to ourselves, and I do believe our objectives were accomplished.

But, really, the whole breakfast ( Read more... )

You do not like eggs? One of my daily chores growing up was feeding the chickens. Needles to say, we had a lot of eggs. I always liked them. Perhaps because they were easy to cook. Eggs and cheese, and sometimes sausage from the butcher. SO much tastier than the food we get in the tunnels.

And yes, I do know what you mean about waking up. The day before we left on our extended undercover mission working with Apophis, I woke up to find we were a couple miles from the tunnels. Lashek had decided to go for a walk, and a fairly long one. It's a good thing she can heal a sunburn, because the suns were coming up before we turned around and started back. There is a reason that planet was uninhabited.

I'll agree, that sounds much better than the usual fare we're exposed to...for me, it's something about the texture, but cheese and sausage I could eat any time....

Idarel laughs at me, but I have to admit I still find it disorienting to wake up someplace different from where I fell asleep.

I'm not fond of eggs either, or most food that comes from animals. Food on Tollana was bland, serving only a physiological function of nutrition. We lost the art of cooking and eating for pleasure a long time ago in my culture. With Idarel's help I'm trying to learn to widen my taste, but it's not easy.

I'm glad you had such a fun time with Galen on your joint mission. I'm preparing for the mission to Burbank today, getting my new uniform together. I don't think we'll have as many handsome young men in uniform in Burbank, but it is vital to the cause. *nods*
