yes! i HATE christian. he annoyed the shit out of me the whole damn time. none of his clothes looked modern, even though i did like some of them. his collection WAS too monotonous. and it was too over the top. there would've been about a handful of pieces i would've really liked if he had toned it down.
i felt that rami had the best collection (although i agreed with michael kors, he used some gross colors), jillian second. combined with their performances throughout the competition, i thought jillian should've won.
man, i guess i should be used to them not picking the people i like.
i kinda thought that jillian would win, but then when posh spice was talking to christian, i figured he would win. i didn't really like his collection, but i didn't have a problem with him. i do agree with you that rami's colors were yuck, i think i would have rather seen chris's stuff instead
yo, christian was fierce. and he thought asians were fierce, therefore christian is cool. and i like project runway, because thats the show the put on when top chef is gone... loloolol
jillian was consistently whiny, but christian had an enormous ego that got crushed by anything that didn't go his way; he got all 'woe is me, i might as well just leave now.' his personality definitely rubbed me the wrong way, but i really didn't care for most of his designs, especially his collection.
i agree that 'project runway' should be about giving the unestablished a boost, but for the two previous seasons, both the winners already had their own stores, which pissed me off. i think they should be more selective in choosing contestants in that capacity.
the two christian pieces you mentioned were ones i thought were too over the top. the one with the collar would've been great if the collar had been toned down a bit, and it would've still been dramatic. the one with the burgundy coat looked like a costume. if it had been a chris piece, the judges would've given him shit about it. yes, i loved rami's dresses; i thought his collection was the best. i expected more from jillian.
as far as the challenges went, i didn't really have a problem with them. but i did notice that this season, even though the designers were better (or at least that's what the judges and tim kept saying) there really weren't a lot of pieces i was wowed with like in past seasons.
