Interesting question. I think that for me using a Mooncup has to be my biggest and most meaningful contribution towards trying to ameliorate the damage I'll do to our environment over my lifetime. The Mooncup is made of win and awesome - cheap, environmentally friendly, liberating etc.
I have a Mooncup as well. I don't think of it as planet friendly, just liberating, as you said.
I use reusable bags, have a few CFLs, unplug appliances that don't have a clock or aren't used all the time (toaster, etc), we put a timer on our living room lights, and flush every other time.
I don't feel like it is much, but every little bit helps. I even have my mom reusing her plastic grocery sacks.
