I decided something tonight (and it relates to fibromyalgia)

I decided something tonight.

I've never considered myself to have fibromyalgia. This is largely because of things like the fact that my....symptomology, let's say....can be otherwise explained, whereas the conditions inherent within fibro tend to eventually be attributed to fibro because they are undeniable, but there is no other explanation. But ( Read more... )

That's one of the other things about fibro that seems to be better understood and accepted now, than a few years ago -- the fact that the hypersensitivity does not have to be a full-body thing, but can be limited to one or more areas of the body.

I know you know. Thanks.

I'll also sometimes get pins and needles or complete numbness...

Hm, I have that in my upper right leg, have since 10th grade in high school. I don't even think about it anymore. Then again, I don't have all of the other symptoms and crazy medical ailments like you do.

It IS silly to NOT go down this path to attempt to get qualified as disabled. My thought is that once you are qualified and are getting SSI, then you can start the process of getting investigated as a medical mystery. Good luck!

I've got a family and personal history that doesn't give me a choice! ::laughs:: Eniways, fibro is hardly the only reason a person will have abnormal issues with parasthesia. You know, I'm going to be honest here- I'm not so sure you don't have fibro. Yes, you have a mutant knee and other oddities, but doesn't mean you don't also have fibro. Your symptoms sound so much like mine, some days...

And also, fibro has a range of severities. Go figure, right? Honestly, I'm doing a hell of lot better than some of the people I know with fibro, which scares the holy crud out of me. But anyway, I think you're on to something here. I so hope it helps you get the help you need. You certainly deserve it. *hugs*
