I'm auditioning for an orchestra here, we'll see how it goes, it'd be great to be playing again, I do miss playing.

hey :) how have you been? I just read your epic update on the convention - sounds good, good to know your keeping you imagination spinning.
I decided that I didn't want to audition for an orchestra - the idea completely freaks me out. So I didn't audition... But I'm looking at the orchestra's around here that don't require auditions there are a few so I'm going to try them. Its summer here though so it won't be a while until they play again..

Yeah it felt good to be travelling again. I have to go over to Adelaide again to spend some non-game time with Liz and James (and baby Jay), although I do want to go up to Canberra again.

Dennis asked if you've been in touch with the lady he gave you the contact details for over there.

Hmm. You'd be on summer break now? Are you planning on visiting anywhere interesting while you've got a bit of time off?

Hope you find a good non-audition orchestra to play in - I can't see any orchestras turning down an oboe - or you for that matter :)

I didn't contact the lady (Shannon) that Denis referred me to - I'm really picky about my reeds and decided that I'll still get them from Australia - the wind miller sends overseas ;) which is a relief. Summer break - yeah we're going to wisconsin later today for a few days and I'm coming back to Aus in August for a week for Miah's wedding, which will be good :). I found an orchestra that doesn't require auditions, and does require another oboe player - its "microsoft orchestra" which doesn't thrill me - but hey I just want to play music in a good environment. I've been more and more tempted of late to try the cello though (don't tell Denis! ;)) I may try it - I'm not sure. Its kind of daunting - the idea of learning a new instrument- so I may not... I always worry that if I play another that the oboe will become null in my head, so I'll have to think about that for a while.
Hows Kim? Work? Granddad?
