It takes talent to read a book while walking around stores.

The whole book was definitely a very Harry-and-Dumbledore book.

Do you think that was a weakness of the book? I don't know if I have an opinion yet, but I'm curious. I was rather hoping we'd see more of Luna and Neville...

I wouldn't call it a weakness, necessarily. It was kind of necessary because Dumbledore needed to tell him all this stuff. But I felt that Harry was distancing himself from a lot of his friends, because he has got a bit of a hero-complex, and if love is his weapon and all that, shouldn't he stand together and all that?

*nods* Yeah, I see that. I feel like the very last few pages show that we won't be seeing a totally isolated hero-Harry in the final book, which really heartens me. I like that his friends were there for the lighter comic stuff this time around, but yeah, there was a certain Trio element missing a bit.

Tom Riddle's family was a bunch of inbred hicks! :D I <3 Rowling. And the backstory made me deleriously happy.

As for the horcruxes, I have a theory on who took that one that was supposed to be the locket. R.A.B. = Regulus A-something Black. :D I so hope.

That's what I thought, after someone pointed it out to me. Which means Regulus is far more of a clever little bastard than we've given him credit for.

Not only were they inbred hicks, they were angry crazy inbred hicks! I like how Tom kept trying to think that it was his father who was the magical one.

I think my line of thought went B --> Borgin? Buke? Black .... omfg Regulus!

Hee, inbred hicks. "habit of marrying their cousins" but damn on the psychology of Riddle. I are intruiged even the more.

He is such a sociopath but it's funny how well he can defend himself because once he got into Hogwarts he totally turned into the perfect student and started wrapping everybody around his little finger. He's such a chameleon.

I totally saw him killing Dumbledore coming though. I'm sorry but I have to ask how? I'm still in denial; I refuse to believe Snape's been faking his devotion to Dumbledore. He just can't be capital E evil. And Draco/Moaning Myrtle 4-Eva.

Arghh, I wasn't logged in. This was Oly, btw.

I don't know exactly. It was just a feeling I had.

And Snape isn't necessarily evil. I mean, he was in a bit of a tight spot, surrounded by Death Eaters and that Unbreakable Vow looming over his head.

I know I'd have killed the old man. Especially if he gave me a crap pay salary.

...bad joke. But I think most of us would have killed him if we were in Snape's position. It sounds horrible, but that's human nature.

I'm really upset. I didn't expect him to do it, I didn't! I agree it was a terribly Harry and Dumbledore book, which is why it hurt so very much at the end, and that is likely why JKR did it.

Harry and Ginny were the light of my life! Oh Harry, he is so stupid and noble and wonderful, but I am glad that he did what he did, broke things off. And I am so, so so glad that Ron and Hermione are by his side always. They are forever.

I'm glad they're by his side too but I hope they won't always be at his side together because that coupling makes me squirm.

I didn't see very much Ron/Hermione even after Lavender had gone, did you? Just vagueness. It was a bit odd, I thought.

I don't think they are made to be in a lasting relationship. They are far too manipulative with each other. It feels much more like an overprotective nobody else can have her/him thing.

Horcruxes are freaky deaky.

For some reason I was thinking of Hitler being rejected from the Art Gallery when I read about Voldie being rejected from the job at Hogwarts.

When I finished it I felt that RAB is Regulus A------ Black. SMARMY BWOY. And then if Reg's alive, then Grimmauld Place will love him more than Harry the P.

Oh, Regulus. If it is indeed him (and I can't think of anyone else it could be) then he is far far sneakier than we have all given him credit for. Someone mentioned Harry & Co. coming across a locket in OotP while going through a trunk. Could that be the locket in question?

I wonder what would have happened if Voldie had been given the job at Hogwarts.
