My mom is getting to be the exact same way. It's really random how she chooses what things to get mad at and trying to explain my side never helps because she just won't listen--which, of course, makes her even more mad when I try to ignore the ranting. I feel ya. :)

My parents throw hissy fits a lot...and they're all over small things. I.e. When I leave a glass in the sink instead of washing it myself, they'll accuse me of being lazy and being useless because I don't do anything around the house.

And I'd prefer being hit...physical wounds heal. Emotional wounds build up until you develop a certain level of hatred that is hard to get out of.
