Dunno if you've read it, but Good Omens by Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman is my current favorite. Barring that, try the Callahan Chronicles by Spider Robinson.

Green Angel by Alice Hoffman. A quick, easy read, but one I'd recommend to anyone who likes lit and anyone who can appreciate a good munipulation of the written word.
