My biggest problem with S3 was how uber-powerful and un-defeatable the villains were, all the way up until the very end, when suddenly they weren't. I went with it though, because the rest was pretty cool, and I even enjoyed some of the stuff with the villains, just...it was a little annoying constantly watching our team get the crap kicked out of them.
I will say, however, that the fight scene between Kya and Zaheer at the air temple was awesome. Because yes, Katara's daughter would be formidable. :)
Agreed. That was an ongoing annoyance. First, that a brand new airbender who'd been stuck in prison for years would somehow become powerful enough to defeat multiple trained benders in combat. And then the villains in general, who were exactly as powerful as the plot required from episode to episode.
There were some great and beautifully animated fight scenes, but yeah.
Exactly! Every other newly made airbender struggled with their abilities, but a man who should have been malnourished and out of shape from years of confinement broke out of his jail cell with seemingly instant mastery of his new found powers. The show tried to kind of explain it with his obsession with studying old air nomad saints, but still. Hopefully we can avoid the same tropes in S4.
But yeah, some of the fight scenes were pretty awesome to watch.
