I've just spent some time going through some of the stuff I brought from my parents' house. Most of it is simply photos, I managed to save very little else as I had some thought that I would be able to get mementos etc from the house after the will was sorted out (at the very least). It's absolutely fine to as you say be entitled to feeling upset. I don't think you're dwelling or reliving, perhaps reflecting and experiencing a resurfacing of old emotions?

It's not easy regardless of beliefs when confronted with the realities that you are or in my case will be the only one left. However bright side (such as it is) you get to grips with it eventually.
