For the shield, use rawhide. Looks so much better then the hose, and less weight. I use bulk barn doggy chews for the hide, so it's pretty cheap.

You can wear whatever you want at Coronation. Only the people I ask to hold the field against all comers are going to have an "armour standard." You are right about Crown though. I will be at practice next Thursday if you want to come by and we can talk about your kit. :-)
