I hate being a troublesome customer (but sometimes it works...)

I stripped out anything identifying, just because I don't want this to turn up on a Google search of the store in question, but this is a pretty good example of how NOT to treat a customer who knows the merchandise, and who has been buying from you for years.

I don't see a big deal here, they're months late shipping your stuff. It's not like you were a raging lunatic.
