Netflix sucks. They have now shipped my last two movies from Tacoma, WA and Reno, NV. The reason they always give is “ is not available at your local shipping center. Instead, we will ship the DVD from .” You will not convince me that the movies I wanted were not available someplace between New Jersey and the West Coast. Maybe the shipping ( Read more... )

They opened a new Netflix facility in Charleston, WV late last year. There's been one based in Louisville for several years. With as many facilities as they operate, it's hard to believe they couldn't find the movie somewhere on the East Coast/Midwest.

Have you looked into Blockbuster Online? I was with Netflix for a couple months before I switched over. The reason I switched was to have the option to return them to the store and get a new movie, but after I switched, I noticed Blockbuster had much better availability and generally shipped the movies faster.

I like the ability with Netflix to play movies on my computer. If there's something that I just have to see it and can't wait for it to show up in the mail, I'll watch it on the PC. The only catch is it doesn't work in Firefox, I had to download IE7 to get it to run.
