I love my city, but I think the real charm is more in living there than visiting there, and a lot of the touristy places aren't my thing (and btw, there's a much bigger ice skating rink in Central Park which might be the one in the movies). It's definitely a great place for museums, restaurants, plays, opera, ballet, classical music if you're into those things. But I love it's diversity, tolerance, mobility (you can walk to everything here--for everyday purposes, and the entire city is very accessible by subway and bus--no car necessary.) I particularly love that it's the sort of place that is open 24 hours. When I was in Cambridge (Massachusetts, not England) for school, all stores and restaurants closed by 10 pm. While I could go across the street here in NYC at 3 am and get a container of milk if needed.

I hope someday you'll come back and my city will get a chance to earn your love!
