How awful and tragic! I have no words but the unfairness of it all just screams at me.
I hope they can recover and rebuild somehow. Thank goodness nobody was home.

I'm hoping they will rebuild their house.

My deepest fear is that they will put the land up for sale and someone will buy it just so they can put in some cheap rental units.

I am very sorry for your neighbors. My daughter's house caught on fire when Beckett was just a baby. The fire was caused by shoddy construction, as they bought the house from some crooks (unbeknownst to Jess and Jason) who took a lot of "shortcuts" when they flipped the house.

It would be a nightmare if somebody snatched up this property and built rental units.

Perhaps you should write an editorial, write letter to the paper, or give a fiery speech to stop this. (This is said in jest, making fun of my "friend" Ruth who wanted me to do all those things to help Save the Farm.)

My mechanic's business was right next door to the one apartment building in our little community. He told me that those renters constantly made trouble--judging by what he heard on the police-band radio and also by what he saw on the CC camera on his property--after hours.

Everyone else around here pretty much behaves themselves. There's no way I'd want any renters living right next door. I like a quiet life. If I want excitment, I'll read a book or watch a movie. Other than that, the most excitment I want, is burning my SMALL brush pile come late fall.
