More About My Leaves....

The last day I brought home leaves was Wednesday and that was load #8.
The next time I had a chance to bring home any leaves was Saturday when I was given an entire truckload of pine needles and then stopped for a few more bags of oak leaves that could ride on top of them before I went home.                                         Saturday's load ( Read more... )

It's the shape, or rather the surface area, of the pine needles that doesn't permit the wind to catch them, I'm thinking.

A few years back, I was talking to a nurseryman about using leaves as a soil amendment and he said, "Don't bother with using maple leaves [to improve soil texture.] They just melt into nothingness, they don't do a thing to improve soil structure."

Your thoughts on that?
