subtle oddities
Greetings all! Hope you all are having a wonderful summer! Short (and MUCH more positive) update since my last entry.
Got a smartphone. Android Xperia, in the same color as my old phone.
Went up to Nagoya yesterday to see the shiny new Naruto movie with Tara, Garret and Marie... only to be DENIED. We arrived around 11:45 for the 12:09 show, and it was sold out. Along with the one after it.
WTF NONE OF THE NARUTO MOVIES HAVE EVER BEEN THIS POPULAR I THINK I HEAR THE UNIVERSE UNRAVELING.
Tara and her bf ended up seeing the 16:55 showing, since he'd come all the way from Chiba-ken, but alas I had to be back in Toyohashi for a co-worker's birthday dinner/karaoke by 7, so I couldn't stay. Marie was kind enough to hold out for me, and we're gonna try again this coming Saturday!
I picked up a copy of Gakuen Heaven: Okawari! from Book-Off on Saturday. It was only 105 yen, so I figured "why the hell not?". Upon eying the game, I recalled very fond memories of trudging through Osaka with doctorskuld, on an endless quest to obtain the 18+ version of the game. My version is the much tamer 15 and up one, but again, bargain basement find not complaining. The game is surprisingly short, and I got the ending I wanted with my favorite character on the first try! The plot is as absurd to the point of being entertaining, and outdated technology EVERYWHERE. Those BL Academy kids would so have smartphones, not the shitty old phone I used to have back in 2005.
