This time of year...

I can't decide whether I love this time of year, or not. There's the time off to look forward to, but somehow I'm always broke. And there is always, I repeat, always something that comes up. I was beginning to run a little short of cash, yet trying to hang in without telling the Schwab people I needed an advance on the stock money (since so much of that has flown away ;( ), but now that it is snowing like the demon someone has finally shown some interest in out older Explorer with lovely 4-wheel drive that has been on the market for a couple of months with no nibbles. What had been a reluctance on the part of the buying public fueled by gas prices has now become of interest due to the weather. Son is working on this deal so I don't have to have anything to do with it, which is great. Unloading this car will mean an extra parking space, lower insurance and tax bills, and the money I need to pay for Christmas stuff and two college bills for winter quarter. Yay!

So good is now outweighing blah. And half of the grandkids and I and my daughter made decorated cookies today - even good-er!

Sorry you're feeling down. *hugs*

I'm ignoring the holidays this year. Seriously. Haven't listened to the first Christmas CD and I'm usually chomping at the bit to dig them out the day after Thanksgiving.

Being broke does simplify things, though. We told everyone we're buying for the kids and that's it. No sending out cards. No exchanging gifts with relatives. Makes life SO much easier, LOL.
