But it does touch you. It prevents insurers from charging you higher premiums because you're a woman, and therefore could need maternity care. It eliminates pre-existing conditions. It allows the government the power to limit rate hikes, so your premiums won't suddenly increase 40%. It prohibits insurers from dropping your coverage if you get sick and need care. It ends annual and lifetime caps to coverage. It establishes a safety net in case you get laid off from your job or decide to start your own business.

Oh, and it insures 32 million Americans who didn't have coverage.

I'm kinda in the same boat.

Yeah yeah, they can promise that people like me with preexisting conditions will finally not be denied health coverage all they want, but until I have an insurance card in hand and can actually go to the doctor's office, I really don't care.
