I've got yet another pissing viral infection.

This time I am behaving like a Victorian heroine and retreating to the chaise-longue with a lavender soaked lace handkerchief. I've only just got over the symptoms and post-viral symptoms from the last two sets of infection.

Not again. Really, not again.

This year has been rally bad for that sort of thing. We all ent down with something en famille over Xmas, and it keeps coming back for another go. My father just had a week off work with another bout.

It's evil, evil stuff.

It's wretched. This is bout 3 and the time between bouts 2 and 3 have been mostly occupied with post-viral symptoms. I suppose at least this isn't in the run up to last weekend, which would have been a right bummer.

So far I think it's just an uncomplicated cold, which isn't pleasant but should be over fairly soon if I nurse it a bit. Soldiering on in a manly way maintaining stiff upper lip is not us.

Chocolate, alcohol of choice, and a bad book... Daytime telly isn't what it was, but if you're lucky there may be some Shaun the Sheep on.

Yes, yes and yes - although the book is Mansfield Park, so I suppose it depends whether you regard that as bad or not .

Daytime telly - you mean you aren't on the edge of your seat over what will happen in Bargain Hunt or Cash in the Attic or - gasp - Neighbours?

Oh dear - I feel for you. I'm just now getting over the one that made my voice vanish. You really need something to boost your immune system - like a week in some Mediterranean country.

I have everything to boost my immune system that Boots sell in pots or bottles.

A week in the Med sounds like a better idea. And would probably be cheaper - being ill is a sodding expensive business these days.
