I'd go for option three, personally, but then, I don't actually like tooth-achingly sweet frosting, and have been known on more than one occasion to scrape the icing off a cake and leave it on the plate.
Of the others, I like options 1, without caramel drizzle.
I'm leaning that way myself. I've made cream cheese frosting dozens of times before, but I've never made this one. Should be a little more subtle, perhaps.
It's a Martha Stewart recipe, so I suspect it tastes excellent.
