When are you guys gonna do a Hard Rock / Metal cover of a Kylie song??? LOL
I have to admit - I'm really NOT a fan of heavy metal / thrash / hardcore - I just don't understand the screaming and "wall of sound".... my poor bleeding eardrums! LOL
It definitely isn't for everyone. The appeal, in my opinion at least, is the aggressive nature of the music. There is a lot of music out there that deals with other emotions. Love, loss, happiness, depression and just about every other emotion there is. The metal / thrash / hardcore scene is about anger, disillusionment, pain and other darker emotions. I believe it's cathartic in the way that watching a full contact sport is. You can watch the guys beat the snot out of each other and have that feeling, rather than going out yourself and beating on someone.
We don't do the heavy stuff all the time. Lately we have been working on a John Denver cover. (No, I am not kidding)
I will bring up "I Should Be So Lucky" at the next rehearsal. But they are kinda old school at heart so I might have to settle for some Olivia Newton John. I wonder what my chances are of getting them to do "Xanadu"? :D

I suppose because I'm a fairly non-aggressive, gentle person, and don't really get angry / or "dark", that it's probably not that appealing to me....
Now - about that Kylie cover. I think you should "I Should Be So Lucky". LOL
