I came across this poem today while reading another article. It made me remember how difficult it can be to not impose one's own will, views, and goals upon one's children, especially when one sees them going in a direction that, to oneself, would be a mistake. I think all parents could use a little reminder every now and then that though

Gibran always seems so profound to me. I used to have several of his books, but they disappeared during a move and I haven't been able to replace all of them.
