Try to distance yourself from it a bit. If you let yourself get in too deeply emotionally then you're more likely to sink. Instead, concentrate on anything in your life that is good right now. Use that to take a step back and gather yourself.
I've always lived by a fairly simple rule which weems to work. It goes something like this...
What are you worried about? What can you do about it? If you know what you can do about it, then go do it instead of worrying. If you can't do anything about it then there's no point worrying, find something you can do something about instead.
It's not easy at first, but with practice and determination that simple thing can become a state of mind, and you do it without even thinking about it. It works for me anyway. :)
