Character Information
General
Canon Source: Cats Don't Dance
Canon Format: Animated Movie
Character's Name: Danny
Character's Age: Between 18-23. Movie never specifies.
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. N/A
What form will your character's NV take? Danny's NV takes the shape of a pre-paid cellphone. It is a very old model, the device having the make of when cellular telephones first came out. It flips open and an antenna is pulled out. It has the basic functions of a cellphone of it's make on Earth, but is also equipped with a camera for video chat. It is a deep green in color with a golden star on the back.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Danny's only real abilities are his incredible singing and dancing skills. He has a wonderful voice that can reach a surprisingly wide range of notes for being an older male's voice. He has quick feet and is pretty light on them. He is a fast thinker and comes up with most of his plans on the fly. He also seems to have a never ending supply of optimism. Whether you see this as a gift or a curse depends on your disposition towards optimism itself.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them?
Danny's conditional power is Musical Energy Manifestation and Manipulation. Danny can only access this power when he sings. While he sings a song, he generates power within his body and the longer he sings before releasing the power, the stronger the energy gets. When he finally releases the energy, it appears as musical notes made of energy flying from his hands or a massive amount of energy notes being released as a shock-wave. The color of the energy is dependent on the mood of the song. Darker music comes out in darker colors while lighter music has light colors. Obviously the song must have lyrics as well as a dominant mood. As he practices the power and learns to control it he will be able to force the energy into an orb shape, send out half crescent shock-waves by clapping his hands during a song, and even channel the energy through his feet and tail.
Danny's power will have several drawbacks however. For starters, if he starts to sing he cannot stop singing. He will continue on throughout the entire song unless stopped by an external force (such as; a boot to the head, someone forcing his mouth shut, being knocked unconscious, etc). If the song is stopped, all of the potential energy from the song that Danny hasn't released yet becomes internalized and backlashes on Danny. If a song is stopped just as it starts Danny will receive all of the energy he would have released from the song at once. If it is later or towards the end of the song, it is lessened and won't hurt as much.
Another draw back is Danny will take on the emotion of the song for a duration after he sings it. If the song is happy, he will be excessively happy, even in the face of something horrible. If the song is depressing, he will become horribly depressed and remain that way until the affect wears off. This will usually last anywhere between 1 hour to 5 hours, depending on the strength of the emotion in the song and how long the song was.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Danny was born and grew up in the small town of Kokomo, Indiana. Ever since he was a little kitten, he had a dream. He wanted to be a big movie star in Hollywood. He spent most of his time learning how to sing and dance as well as taking acting classes. His main talent was the singing and dancing, so musical movies were the ones he truly wished to be cast in.
One day, once he felt he was ready and had the money for the bus ticket, he bought a one way ticket to Hollywood with a “solid” (more like overly optimistic) plan to land his first big part in a week. Before he left, all of his friends and family saw him off, giving him a wide assortment of gifts to never be seen again. Danny left Kokomo in pursuit of his dream.
The bus trip took a few days but at sunrise on Monday, Danny reached Hollywood. He was dropped off in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. It was there he met Pebble Pudgemire. Pudge was a young up-incoming actor who delivered ice as a side-job. Of course with Hollywood being as it was at the time, animals were not taken seriously as talented actors and performers.
Danny made his way across the city to Farley Wink Animal Actors Agency, one of the most predominant Animal Managing agencies in all of Hollywood. Of course as he made his way across Hollywood he was singing and dancing along the way, causing Sawyer a hell of a lot of trouble on the way to work.
He went upstairs to meet several other animal actors who would become his friends, even if they didn't like him much until later on. He met Tillie Hippo, Cranston Goat, T.W. Turtle, and Frances Fish. Tillie introduced Danny to everyone, in a rather fast paced and dizzying way. Tillie saw Danny's To-Do list and asked what it was. It was then he told them all his plan to work hard and land his first big part by Friday. None of them had the heart to discourage him and laughed, telling him he could probably do it by Thursday. Tillie fixed Danny up before sending him to see Mr. Wink about getting a part.
Danny walked into Mr. Wink's office while he was on the phone, several actually, casting for the newest Darla Dimple picture. It was a Noah's Ark film and Farley needed to find a male and female pair of a bunch of animals for it. The orange tabby was trying to talk to Farley as he was on the phone but was ignored until the Manager was checking his list of animals. He hadn't cast the cats yet and upon looking up and seeing Danny, he asked if Danny could play a Cat. Of course the tabby responded; I am a cat (no duh!). Upon hearing that he may be playing in the next Darla Dimple picture, Danny was starstruck. He loved Darla's career and the image she had built for herself. Without any hesitation, or even reading the massive contract, he signed up to be Managed by Wink.
Danny left Wink's office with his new Manager with a big smile on his face. His dream was coming true. After a bit (a long sequence of back and forth is more like it) of deal making Sawyer agreed to be in the Darla Dimple picture. What she didn't know as that the orange tabby that had helped her get her day off on a bad start was Danny. She tried to back out but Wink wouldn't let her. She was obviously not happy about this. Danny on the other hand hadn't seen Sawyer yet and was a bit dumbstruck upon first seeing her. Of course the tabby was distracted by the fact Sawyer was soaken wet, asking if he had started raining outside. In truth, Danny had knocked Sawyer into a water fountain without realizing he had before he entered the agency office. As the two were leaving the office, Danny was trying to make small talk about how it rains in Kokomo, saying that clouds came first there before the rain unlike in Hollywood. He accidentally slammed Sawyer's tail in the door as they left. It was not a great way to start the friendship.
Danny and Sawyer made their way over to Mammoth Studio's filming lot. The tabby tried to make small talk/flirt with Sawyer but she was put off by it. He was amazed at seeing King Kong and a bunch of other movie related things. He was like a kitten in a fish store. It was in the filming lot where Danny ran into Pudge again and learned the penguin was also trying to make it big in Hollywood. He got into costume and was given his script, which had a resounding one line on it; “Meow.” This was Danny's first run in with Hollywood's bias against animals. As Sawyer put it when he asked her why there wasn't more; “Listen tiger. In this town there are rules and around here; Cats say Meow.” Danny, being the naive optimist he is, thought it would be okay for him to jazz it up a bit.
During Darla's first number; Danny became overzealous with his line, even going so far as to steal her spotlight, both literally and figuratively. This unfortunately caused Darla to show her true colors. She forced the director to cut and began to freak out over how Danny had stood her up and how she was the stare. Danny was frightened by her sudden outburst and hit Darla's pulley controls, which sent her flying across the filming area. It was then that she called for her butler; Max.
Max came into the filming studio, through a wall, and stopped Darla from swinging around. She pointed out Danny. Max cracking his knuckles caused the rest of the animals to abandon the tabby to his fate. Max picked Danny up, Max being about as tall as the filming studio here and asked him; “How does the kitty-kat go?” The tabby answered with a meow. With just his thumb, he sent Danny flying towards the ground, embedding him in it once he hit. Max quickly left when Darla said she didn't need him anymore. Poor Danny was traumatized after that, but he quickly got over it (as he seems to do with most of the trauma he faces).
After the day of shooting, Cranston and the others were imitating Danny and making fun of what he had done earlier in the day. Danny walks up as Tillie is imitating him and walks away once she spots him. The tabby was confused as to what he had done wrong. Sawyer volunteered to talk to Danny, hoping to show him that he was in over his head. The tabby, on the other hand, was optimistic as always and figured this would only set him back half a day on his week long plan. When Sawyer tried to talk to him, Danny showed just how naïve he was. He thought that perhaps he had hit a sour note and wanted to try again to fix it. Sawyer had to yell at him that they didn't care. When she asked why he was so determined to make a fool of himself, he told her he just wanted to do what he loved. She told him it wasn't so simple but in Kokomo it was, which made Danny even more confused. Sawyer told him that that's where he should had stayed and left him alone.
Danny was saddened by this, until Pudge came along and told him he liked Danny's dancing. Pudge tried to copy Danny's dance but fell flat on his butt. The tabby joined in, teaching the penguin the dance moves which cheered the cat up in no time. As they were dancing, he stopped Pudge and listened, actually hearing music. The two followed it to a small cart/house owned by Wooly the Mammoth, Mammoth studio's mascot (He's the equivalent to the MGM's lion).
Danny and Pudge listened to Wooly play his piano, enjoying the music. Wooly swung around, nearly hitting the pair with his trunk. The let go of the window seal and the tree they were standing on flung them into the cart. Danny hit the wall and fell onto the couch, where Pudge hit the piano on B-flat. Wooly was amused, saying that ended the piece perfectly. When the mammoth saw Danny, he knew he was the one who caused Darla's freak out, to which Wooly congratulated him on. The three of them began talking about animal roles in Hollywood and how none of Wooly's music had ever been put into film. All of Danny's friends had come to Hollywood aiming to achieve their dreams, but all had been crushed. This did inspire Danny to try and remind everyone why they had come to Hollywood though (See? Furry orange ball of optimism!).
The next day, all of Danny's friends had gathered outside Mammoth studios for a casting call. It turned out only some Water Buffalo were needed for a stampede scene and the rest were told to go home. Danny saw this as his chance and started trying to get them all to dance and sing with him. Sawyer was drawn to the music as well and with some of Danny's prodding, she started dancing. He called her moves rusty and she went all out and soon the two were dancing together. Unfortunately they were within earshot and sight of Darla's dressing room. She went out to see what they were doing and watched them all dancing. When it all ended, Sawyer told Danny it was a waste of time, at which point to get Sawyer to stay he told her he could get her an audition with L.B. Mammoth, head of Mammoth studios. Cranston made the joke that he would be starving for real talent, having nothing but Darla for so long. The child star grew quite angry and this and decided to ruin the animals' careers once and for all. She had Max invite Danny over to her house for tea.
At Darla's house, she pretended she was sorry for her and Max's actions on the set. She was playing kind and trying to earn his trust, which she did (Even though she got his name wrong every time he was at her house). Darla pretended like she wished to make up what she had done to Danny by helping him anything he needed. She got him to ask her to help let him and the other animals to perform for L.B. Mammoth. She gave him full access to her stage and ark, telling him the number would be in the movie. As Danny was describing what he wanted for the performance, Darla could not help but put in her two cents, singing to him that he had to be Big and Loud. As soon as Danny leaves, Darla made sure that L.B's press conference would be Friday at 3:00pm, the same time she told Danny the animals would get their audition. Unknown to Danny, this was all part of Darla's plot.
Friday came along and Danny had gotten almost everyone ready. They planned on coming out of Darla's Ark and using the special affects to make their performance Big and Loud. Sawyer arrived and could tell something was up (and offended two of the other animals with puns). Danny tried to assure her everything was alright and that they had a little angel looking out for them. Pudge was the only one outside of the Ark, since he was doing the special affects. So he was the only one Darla had to take care of when she arrived with Max.
Meanwhile, outside the studio L.B. Mammoth was having his press conference about the “Little Ark Angel” movie. It was all going well outside while inside Darla was using the water system to flood the studio. Once L.B opened the studio to take everyone inside, a massive wall of water was all they saw before it crashed down upon then. Danny had ran out to the top of the arc to see why it was suddenly moving only to find the storm Darla had created inside the studio. He had no time to fix it since right after L.B opened the doors.
The arc came down with the wave and Danny was trying his best to steer the arc through the Mammoth studios lot. Sawyer started to fight with Danny as he was trying to drive, while the other animals were doing their best to say on the arc, or in Tillie's case perform for L.B since he and the director were stuck to the anker they were stuck on.
Up at the front of the arc, they crashed through the filming of another movie and Sawyer insulted Danny's driving skills. Danny in turn told Sawyer she could drive then and they both began to pass the wheel back and forth between each other, letting the water more or less control where the arc went. As they grew closer to crashing into the Mammoth office building Sawyer tried to take the wheel from Danny but since she didn't want it before it started another fight. Wooly tried to warn the two from the Crow's Nest what there were approaching, but both cats yelled at him to stay out of it. The entire episode ended with the Arc sinking with L.B and the director, Finnegan, tied to it's mast. As they sank, L.B assured them they would never work in Hollywood ever again.
All of the animals were forced off of the studio lot and locked out. Danny tried to explain that it was only his fault but they wouldn't listen. To make matters only worse; Max drove up, with Darla in the backseat. It was then she decided to reveal she was the one who set the whole thing up, much to the other animals shock. Max dropped off a soaking wet Pudge, since he was the only other witness to what Darla had done. She drove off laughing at how ridiculous it was for animals to try and star in movies. Sawyer confronted him about it and Danny told them she had said she wanted to help them. The other animals grew furious, not understanding how Danny could be so gullible as to trust Darla (Neither can the mun to tell you the truth). Danny tried to talk to Wooly, but the older elephant simply told him the spot light would never be on fellows like the two of them. He told Danny to go home.
And Danny, being completely heartbroken, left to pack his things. Danny checked out of his Hotel and headed out to the bus stop. On his way, Danny missed the cable car and was forced to walk to the bus stop in the rain. As Danny reached Grauman's Chinese Theatre, he remembered all of the great times he'd had here in Hollywood; Meeting Sawyer, Pudge, Tillie and the others, dancing and singing with them in the alleyway, but it was over now.
He got to the bus stop and the bus heading for Kokomo arrived too. The cat got into the bus, forgetting his straw hat on the bench. Sawyer tried to stop him, but he didn't hear her. He sat on the bud in silence, the bus driver the only other person on the bus that night. The bus driver was going on about how the ruckus at Mammoth studios and how animals didn't belong in pictures, they belonged back on the farm. Danny was looking out at the window, seeing a long line of animals lined up for roasted nuts and several others huddling around a bin fire. The cat spotted Pudge, walking down the sidewalk with nothing but a small pack of things. As he saw the billboard for the Little Arc Angel movie, Danny came up with a plan. He ordered the bus driver to stop the bus and walked up to the front. When the bus driver asked him why he was stopping because they had only just started, Danny said: “Exactly. See you in the movies!” and ran off after Pudge. He told the small penguin about his plan and Pudge eagerly tackled Danny, wanting in on it.
The pair sneaked onto the Mammoth Studio lot and into the Publicity Office. They found the invite list for Darla's premier and added Tillie, Wooly, Cranston, Frances, T.W, and Sawyer to the guest list. While the movie was showing, Danny and Pudge had gotten backstage and were setting up for the impromptu performance of himself and the other animals he had invited. While they were setting up, Pudge nearly dropped one of the cymbals to his drum set. They needed to make sure to not let anyone know they were there until the end of the showing. Pudge checked his reflection and snapped his tie which Max heard (Super Butler is Super?).
Pudge ran into Max, literally, and the Butler quickly dispatched him by rubbing the penguin against his head and causing enough static electricity to stick the penguin to one of the catwalks. Max turned his attention to Danny next. The cat tried to hold off Max with a lit candle stick, but Max blew it out with his nose, the force of the breath sending Danny flying into a rope pulley system. The tabby was able to grab onto the rope and be pulled up just in time, avoiding being grabbed by Max. He ran into the catwalk and burst out onto the roof of the theatre. Max, being the super butler he is, was able to punch through the roof after Danny. The tabby was able to dodge the fists bursting forth from the roof until he reached the end of the ceiling. Max burst out of the roof completely, causing Danny to fall off the roof and to his death, at least that was how Max saw it. That was until Danny floated up on the massive inflatable Darla angel. The Butler climbed onto the massive balloon with Danny, chasing after him calling out; “Here Kitty kitty kitty. Good kitty kitty.”
The tabby wasn't paying attention to his front and the balloon rolled around, Max coming out from in front of the cat. He backhanded Danny, nearly knocking him off the balloon. The tabby was luckily able to grab onto one of Darla's curls and launched himself around, grabbing the star's inflatable nose. Max came around and began stomping on the nose, trying to make Danny fall. The cat couldn't hold on much longer but was able to grab hold of one of the ropes tying Darla's balloon to the theatre. Danny slid down the rope and landed on one of the ornamental spikes on the side of the theatre. Max, not giving up, used the ropes to pull the balloon closer and closer to the roof and so to Danny. Danny, being the quite intuitive little cat he is, was able to see a way out of this however. Once Max was close enough to grab him, the butler laughed but Danny was perfectly confident. He grabbed hold of the rope and looked at Max with a smile. The spike was pressing fairly deep into the balloon and any more pressure would pop it. And so Danny asked; “How does the kitty kat go?” Max answered with a Meow, a shrug, and an unsure smile. Keeping the turn about in place, Danny nodded and responded; “Very good,” before pulling the rope and sending Max flying away with the balloon.
Pudge came running out telling Danny the movie was almost over and everyone was getting ready to leave. He did stop when he noticed how disheveled Danny looked. They both ran inside while Darla was accepting her cheers and applause. Danny ran out onto the stage, asking everyone to wait. He started his speech, telling everyone Darla had arranged for a special performance for L.B staring an all animal cast. Darla, unable to actually do anything since she had to keep up her “lover of children and animals' act, could only smile and play along. When Danny motioned that he wouldn't dream of performing with his friends and the spotlight landed on empty seats, he was heartbroken. He thought his friends had run off and abandoned him, which they had tried to do. Tillie and Sawyer had stopped them though, the hippo keeping all of them in her arms.
Darla told Danny to run off and that he was a silly kitty. Sawyer, from back stage, told Danny they were all behind him. As they animals were frighting to get free of Tillie's grasp, Danny told them if they wanted to accept what they thought of them they could go. He reminded them of why they stayed in Hollywood, even if they couldn't make it big. They all loved the feeling they got when they performed and none of them wanted to give it up. So, Danny returned to the stage once more and the animals began their number.
Darla sneaked away and tried to sabotage their performance backstage, but all of her efforts only managed to make it bigger and better (Great job fixing it, villain). At the end of the number everyone was amazed at the performance. Darla came crashing down into the stage and started crawling towards Danny, covered in lights, sand bags, and with a microphone on her back. She grabbed hold of Danny and cried out she should have drowned them all when she FLOODED THE STAGE! Her exclamation was broadcast all over the theatre, for all to hear.
Pudge tripped the trapdoor and sent Darla under the stage. Sawyer pulled out Danny's list and began to check it off for him. Once she was done with what was on the list, she made up one final item; “Get the girl? Check.” Danny smiled and took her hand. As they went to kiss, Finnegan got between them and they kissed him. L.B, quick with the positive publicity, got on stage and told the press he was going to make the animals stars. They all went on to make a large number of popular movies together.
Point in Canon: At the end of the movie when L.B. Mammoth tells them he is going to make him and all the other animals stars.

Character Personality:
Danny isn't all that complex of a character. He's fairly straight forward and a good person. He doesn't lie often and tries his best at everything he does. He loves movies, music, and dancing. It's his dream to become a big star in Hollywood and to have his name up in lights. He's an innocent through and through, really having no maliciousness in any of his actions (except maybe with what he did to Max, but we're sure the Butler came out of that okay).
He is a very trusting and loyal cat, which can lead him to be a great friend but and also get him into a lot of trouble. All someone has to do is act like they have his or his friends best interests and heart and he'll believe them. He sees the good in everyone, even if there really isn't any there. He's naïve to how the world works and to the fact there are just some bad people out there. These traits will get him into a lot of trouble in the future.
He is also an optimist, seeing that good can come of any event, even the most dark. It is hard to crush his optimism, but if you can he will gain it back in record time. He is a hard cat to keep down, bouncing back with as much optimism if not more once he's done being broken. His perky behavior can instantly draw people to him or push people away, depending on other people's outlooks. He will randomly break out into dance and song on occasion, unable to keep the rhythm in his heart or the song in his head contained.
Should he get close to anyone, he will be incredibly supportive and nice to them, not like he isn't that way with strangers but if he knows and cares about the person he will give them just what he thinks they need. The tabby is a hopelessly old fashioned; calling women strangers Miss and male strangers Sir. He has incredible manners and never really abandons them. Even when face to face with someone he doesn't like he will treat them with respect. This is one cat who it is nearly impossible for you to get him to hate you. If you wrong him or his friends, you will love his trust completely. And once you lose his trust it is almost impossible to gain it back. He may be trusting and naive, but he does have a limit.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A
Character Plans: Danny really won't have many plans beyond trying to survive in Siren's Pull and make friends. He will eventually pursue a career in the performing arts as that is his biggest talent and what his life generally revolves around.

Pain. That was what registered with his mind first, the pain. It shot through his back and down his limbs. His head was throbbing and a bright light shined down upon him. Could he have fainted when L.B. Promised to make them all stars? Danny tried to open his eyes but the blinding light coming from the blue sky forced them shut again. Wait...blue sky? Shining light? It was day now? He and the other animals had preformed at night. Why was it day? And why as he outside?
Danny tried to roll over, but his body screamed in protest and he only made it to his side. The ground beneath him confirmed it was outside, the grass was warm under his cheek and the smell of dirt wasn't too far away. He tried once again to open his eyes once again and was successful this time. His ear twitched as a breeze blew over him. Inhaling for the first time, he chocked on the warm air and started coughing.
Once it subsided, he was able to roll over onto his stomach and used his sore arms to push himself up onto his knees. He looked around at the grass and dirt around him with a curious expression. Where was he? His straw-hat suddenly appeared before his face. He looked at it in surprise, having not noticed it left his head until just then. He followed the hat up to a hand that was attached to an arm that leg to a person.
“Um...excuse me sir? Can you tell me where I am?” he asked as he took the offered had and put it back on his head.
