Title: Providence
Pairing: Heechul/Gunhee
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Whether it's coincidence or providence, Heechul meets Gunhee.
A/N: Well guys after this there's only two more parts. Which is good for me because I'm excited to work on other stuff. Anyway this part is short but the last two parts will be longer which I hope makes up for it.
Heechul stood nervously outside the doors of the office, gathering himself before going out into the world of a celebrity again. He clutched his award to his chest, unbelieving he deserved such a thing, but proud nonetheless.
“Are you ready?” the manager next to him asked.
Heechul nodded. He was as ready as he'd ever be.
Heechul stepped outside into the waiting crowd of fans and repoters, smiling brightly and holding out his award because no matter how nervous he was he was still happy.
Out of the corner of his eye Heechul spotted some fans holding a “hanchul” banner. It was a little disappointing, the realization that some people love him more as a set than a person, but then Heechul's eyes were drawn to the company van and Gunhee looking out the window and smiling. His smile widens then and he continued walking through the crowd to his car, letting his manager try to fend them off from getting too close.
Heechul slipped inside the car. Once his manager was able to get in his seat, they were off. Heechul waved to everyone and then rolled up the window when everyone was out of sight.
Gunhee grabbed Heechul's award as he buckled his seatbelt.
“Good behavior?” Gunhee said, snorting, “Never would have guessed.”
“I don't know what you mean, I'm an angel,” Heechul said, taking his award back.
“I'm proud of you,” Gunhee said quietly, rubbing Heechul's shoulder.
Heechul looks down at the paper in his hand, biting his lip. “So am I. You know, since I'm out of the army I can use my SNS more now. And I want to let everyone know that you're my friend. If that's okay with you.”
“Of course,” Gunhee said, “Some people already know me anyway from posting pictures of us.”
“Yeah, but I mean like not coming out exactly, but not hiding what we're doing with each other,” Heechul said, “I want everyone to know you're a big part of my life.”
“Honestly, I'd be honored if you wanted to do that,” Gunhee said, smiling slightly.
Heechul snorted. “I think honored is going a little far.”
“I will be pleased,” Gunhee amended.
“I just want to make sure you're okay with it,” Heechul said, “People can be...harsh sometimes.”
“I have thick skin, you of all people should know that.”
“I know.”

Heechul collapsed on his bed after a long day. After his discharge he and Gunhee hung out and took a ton of pictures which he then posted on Instagram. Of course there wasn't as many pictures as he originally promised his fans, but there was only so much a man could do. Then once it was night and most of the Super Junior members were free, Heechul said goodbye to Gunhee to hang out with them.
Heechul pulled his comforter over his head and was going to sleep when his phone rang. Heechul checked who it was, intent of ignoring it anyway, until he saw Gunhee's name.
“I'm trying to sleep,” Heechul said in lieu of a greeting.
“Good, that's why I called. I'm making sure you don't stay up all night,” Gunhee said, “You were hanging out with your members?”
“Yeah, it was fun,” Heechul said, smiling to himself, “I...I missed them.”
“I know.”
“And they know,” Heechul said, “I told them I missed them. Not in a really emotional way it was more like I missed you dickheads, but you know.”
“I'm glad,” Gunhee said, “I think they already know you did, but I'm sure they appreciated it.”
“They did,” Heechul sighed, “Actually they were really surprised when I told them. Ryeowook and Donghae even cried a little.”
Heechul scoffed. “It made me feel like a jerk though. They know I love them why do they have to be so emotional about it.”
“Well, a lot was going on I'm sure it wasn't just because you said you missed them,” Gunhee assured.
“Yeah,” Heechul said. He gripped his phone tightly. “Gunhee? I'm...I'm going to be better.”
He didn't specify if he was going to be a better boyfriend, or friend, or son, or brother, or idol. He wanted to be better at all of them. After today, spending time with Gunhee and his friends, no, brothers he loved so much, he knew that he would be able to do it. He had the best people in the world behind him.
“Heechul,” Gunhee said softly, “You already are better.”
