OK, I've withheld love long enough.
I just read this whole thing without noticing it was in present tense... I usually don't like fics written in present tense.
My not noticing is evidence enough of this being good stuff!

awww! how sweet! poor holmes! I had a dream my mom died once and it was horrible I woke up and cried a lot and even throughout the day it made me cry off and on! :(

I've had some awful dreams like that too, some so detailed that when you wake up its hard to tell whether or not their real.
