Ok, here's the thing: I want a tattoo and I'm gonna do it (this time for real!). I've always wanted one and I decided what I wanted like 10 years ago. A couple of weeks ago I turned 30 and I thought, "what are you waiting for?" You see, I've always wanted a little black star on my right wrist...

I'm not a tattoo girl at all. It's just too permanent for me.

HOWEVER, if you like it, and you want it, and it's pretty much what you've been wanting for a decade, then who cares if it's like what someone else has? Be you!

If you want it, go for it! A tattoo is something very personal but even so, there's hundreds of people with similar designs.

May I suggest though... maybe mixing the two? Take the unfilled one and use it as a sort of frame for the filled one? Or any other variation of it that you can think of. I think it would look cool :)

Edit to add that I did something similar with my own tattoo. The original design was gorgeous, but it was a full-back drawing of a dragon, so what I did was take my favorite portion of the whole and tattoo that, so I ended up with just the claws :))

Mixing both tattoos? Great idea! ^-^

BTW, I'd love to see yours! Dragon's claws sound really badass! :)

You've been wanting it for 10 years, the tattoos are already yours... they just need to be physical, now! That's the mark of a truly meaningful tattoo. :) In terms of "copying" tattoos, stars are wonderful, and if you want stars there's always going to be a lot of people who that imagery speaks to. You only perceive a difference because now you've noticed Genevieve's tats and you know she's also famous...

Another thing, if you really don't want your tattoo to be exactly like hers, you could always gets a smaller solid star and give THAT an outline of a larger star - sort of a compromise between the two pictures. :) Or get just the outline! Whatever feels the truest to your heart, because it's for you and no one else.

Get the Gen tattoo! a) No one will see that and instantly think Genevieve Padalecki, b) who cares! You like it.

Hi there. ^_^ You don't know me but I thought I would drop a note here. I say go for the one you like. It is a permanent fixture that you will be adding to your body so go with the one you love.

No one is going to think "hey you are copying so and so." The star tat is generic enough that no single person can lay "claim" to being copied.

I gotta say the hollow star is prettier than the filled in black. And there is so much you can do if you want to get more than one star. Add color or interlock them. Lots of ways to make the tattoo all you.

Good luck deciding and hope you love it when you get it done!
