Tonight he allows his heart to take him upstairs. He lets out heavy sigh before touching the knob (his mind goes through a battle of whether he should enter the room or go back downstairs, comforting himself on the living room sofa). He breaths in and opens the door slowly, afraid if he will make noise.
He walks closer to the edge of the bed and finds her drowning in deep sleep with her blanket half opened. He takes a seat beside her sleeping form, slowly tracing the line of her nose, smiling at how she frowns under his touch. His heart tightens upon noticing her visible tears (she was probably crying until she felt too tired and let the drowsiness defeated her). He regrets the way they often fight during daylight, throwing so many hate at each other because it is ruining their life, tearing up their relationship and the possibility of their future together.
I’m sorry--
Unconsciously, she tells him words he wants to say so many times before. Her voice is barely even heard and his heart breaks for what he thinks he should do in the first place.
Nichkhun pushes the blanket aside before approaching her, carefully wrapping her in his embrace because he knows that is where she belongs.
He believes tomorrow is a better day.

She waits in the kitchen one night. It is one in the morning as she heaves a frustrated sigh. Her hair falls miserably and she nearly chokes in her unstoppable tears. Lifting her hand, she tries to stop the tears from overflowing when it accidentally nudges the silver plate in front of her. She sniffs, opening her heavy eyes to look at it, noticing the small crack on its side and painfully recalling the memories behind it.
She was making him his favorite blueberry pie and was about to ask him to help her out when he surprised her by tiptoeing behind and giving her a back hug. She lost grip of the plate and he tried to stop her from complaining by saying that he’d buy a new set for her.
Of course he never did.
She glances at the clock when it dings two times and just like how he usually comes home, the front door creaks and presents her a man who is supposed to be her husband. She smells alcohol and lies and she doesn’t know if she could be able to survive one more night.
“We need to talk.”

They always say she is the luckiest girl in the world. She manages to get her first crush to like her back and that continues with him being a faithful boyfriend for almost five years. He is the best as she can get yet she still wonders why her heart tells her otherwise.
She repeatedly asks herself why she tries very hard to be excited whenever he’s around, wondering why her heart beats so normally even when he suddenly touches his lips to her forehead.
While on the other side, she hates the way it feels different with him.
He moves an inch further and she notices how far he will go. He smiles and her world is turned upside down. He stretches out his hands and when it accidentally touches hers she feels her cheeks are burning in heat and embarrassment because she knows she shouldn’t feel that way in the first place. It feels wrong in everything with him but she knows her heart all too well to tell lie no more.
She decides to be honest with him, so the moment she sees her boyfriend on the following day, she calls him over to have the talk. His smile is radiant and she hates the fact that she will be the one breaking it apart.
“Oppa, I’m sorry..”

Once upon a time she was a princess and he was her prince. Days would pass by so beautifully slow and their bells of happiness would never forget to ring. She’d be the jewel of his palace when he returned home and everything would be all set in harmony.
But fairy tales are deceptive, and what was first known as love has eventually led them to an ending.
She wakes up that morning alone, realizing that he hasn’t yet come back. She gets up slowly and forces her legs to move to the bathroom. She opens a few buttons and her teeth gritted as she sees the bruises are getting darker every passing day.
She turns on the shower and hot water splashes her face, her body, her crying soul. Her sobs turn to muffled screams in despair, regrets and anger. She has been loving this man for almost her entire life, and she despises the way she hurts herself with the love she thinks he deserves.
It is when she gets tired from screaming that he comes inside. His worried face is near guilt as he checks on her pulse and takes her up. She opens up her quivering lips, insisting to lock her gaze with him in the eyes, allowing him to regret what he did because everything has fallen apart. And she doesn’t want to be a part of it anymore.
Oppa, let me go. I’ve had enough.

It had been months since the last time she saw him. It was beautiful, she liked to think, what they had together until she had to deal with his absences and plentiful excuses. It was bearable at first, before one thing led to another and pushed her to say good bye.
He had his dreams, this she knew best. What she didn’t understand was why he let all those dreams separated them when all she wanted was to be supportive more than anything. Wasn’t she a part of his dreams as well?
She sighed when looking at her phone. Since when she held it and typed his name on it she didn’t have the slightest idea. Calling him to come so they can start over tempted her so many times but she insisted to hold back. She wasn’t playing some game of pride because she needed to make him understand what she really meant. They couldn’t just get back like that if all he would do in the future was no better than what he had done. It wouldn’t work that way.
It was quarter after one and she had fallen asleep when her phone beeped.
I miss you, Am.
