Tomorrow is my 3 month follow up of my surgery. I have to have another contrast MRI (injection with some strange substance that shows up better in MRI, then staying very very very still for an hour and a half while laying on my chest with at least one arm straight out above my head ah la Superman... yeah, fun times. Not.) Then the actual follow up

oh my gosh. how do you stay still on your front for that long? I don't stay still while i sleep. you have my sympathy and admiration.

haircut: i have longish thick hair and i so want to get it cut short. and be a blonde. I just can't visualise it...so if i tried i would onloy get something i hate! I wish there was a service where you could get people to honestly tell you if your new cut has the potential to look awful. family and friends so don't count!! they lie. *sulk* and my mother keeps trying to get me to get a "nice" "bob". what ever the frig that means.

BTW i am hoping a lot of people hide away and write over xmas, to get over family. because i hope to be READING it...to get away from my family. and also recover from all the cooking...me this year...for 8!

I have no idea how I stayed still on my front for that long- I think mostly because my friend stayed in the room with me and made funny faces at me and generally distracted me from the MRI. Today they did the whole thing a different way, and I ended up on my back, but having to hold my breath for 15 seconds out of every 30 or so. Plus, they gave me headphones with my choice of Pandora stations, so that was great. Overall, I must rate the Hopkins MRI experience as excellent (for the given value of having a contrast MRI) and far superior to the other place I went

so did they give you a reason for doing it differently? I am very happy to hear that you had a lovely experience. I generally have a good time with medical things because i have this terrible infliction called "able to chat with perfect strangers and make friends everywhere". It drives everyone batty but at least i am never alone!

you hair sounds gorgeous. i would love to have an exciting, modern do. with colours. mine is dark, dark blonde (use to be light blonde but apparently getting ill made my hair change colour....go figure. could be worse...it could have fallen out). all one length past my shoulds. it is wavey so i always straighten it and THEN wear it in a pony tail. I would LOVE to be cool but i just don't have to patience (a) to do my hair and (b) sit thru the hair colouring thing. it takes ages. and it smells.

This place just does it differently than the other place, no particular reason other than training I guess. Making friends everywhere is totally my policy too! :-D

I don't have a lot of patience with doing my hair on a daily basis either, so I sympathize there. I will probably only "properly" do this hair cut every 2-3 weeks, drying it, curling it under, etc. The rest of the time, I'll just have it a little less than "optimal" but still cute. I have hair that other than the curl because I tuck it behind my ear so often, has little or no wave to it at all, except at the very bottom, so it looks okay without too much fuss. It helps that I'm not overly picky about it either, so I don't actually worry to much. My hair is dark blonde too, now with new improved red bits. I don't think I'll ever do the coloring again either, it really does take too long and smell. But, nice to do once in one's life, right?

I do! I totally do! Desperately really. R helped me make my dress dummy vaguely resemble me today (enough that I can sort of drape stuff on it, but not enough to really properly fit things), but there's still so much to do! Like go through and pick fabric, cut and fit the coutil, etc. I will give you a call- It was good to see you too! And yes, we should get together more than once a year dammit.
