Occupy Your Mind

Lately, I've been thinking about the Occupy movement in relation to past revolutions in the US. I'm thinking specifically of the labor movement in the 1930s and 1940s, as well as the social revolution and civil rights movement of the sixties. Right on. We're in the system. In the web. The only thing I've thought about doing besides voicing my support for the current protest is sending back credit card offer envelopes stuffed with junk mail and a note that says Occupy Wallstreet.

This whole country is broken. I am losing faith that our government has answers. I think the answer needs to be globally instituted. We'll see. In time.

You can do a lot very easily. Talk to people and voice support. Find a reason why *you* support OWS, and when someone says they don't even know what those people want, tell them what you want. Write. Ask. Make support for this normal and matter of course rather than a fringe element. You have a powerful voice- you needn't speak louder than anyone else, just be aware what you say when you do. That is all it takes to change the system.
