If you've gotta do school, Montessori's the way to go.
BTW - don't make a huge issue over her reading. Some kids take longer for it to click than others. Absent any major dislexia, visual problems or other major learning disorder, don't fret it. If she thinks you're anxious about it, she'll stress over it and that'll make the whole thing harder.
Actually, it is dyslexia. I kept hoping it wasn't, but where it runs very strongly in my family and she's got just about every single classic symptom...
All the testing the school did this year showed a huge descrepency between cognitive skill and achievement skill, but since they're not qualified to diagnose dyslexia and she wasn't in the system they said it wasn't a learning disorder, it was her environment (as Dawg says: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Over). At least now we have some WILLING to recognize it and able to teach her how to deal with it.
