A very good friend of mine passed away so I have been in a little bit of a funk lately. I am alright now, but I am sure the viewing and funeral will be difficult ( Read more... )

Hi, you don't know me but I used to read your ex-girlfriend Yuko's journal... I'd been reading yours at the same time but I'd always been too nervous to add you (that must sound strange, eh?). Anyway, I thought it sort of wasn't fair that I was lurking around reading your journal when you don't have access to mine, so I added you to my friends list. You don't have to add me back if you don't want to, but I just thought I would let you know.

Trades are really hard on the body I think but they are really respectable jobs. My dad is a millwright, and my brother is apprenticing to be a plumber, same with a bunch of the other guys in my family. Maybe you could do both the carpentry and the personal training at the same time?

Anyway, losing a close friend or family member is really hard, but at the very least you had the pleasure of knowing him or her while they were on this earth. Not very comforting, but it's what I told myself when I was grieving to make me feel better.

I do love my job. I can relax almost completely when I am working with wood. Almost all of my uncles are in the trades as is my father, who learned from my Grandfather. Loving this kind of work will always be in my blood.
Ever since Yuko and I broke up I have been getting more and more into shape, it has been a new passion of mine. And I would love to help people get this same feeling also. That is why the personal trainer thing appeals to me. Of course if I could find some carpenter in a Japan to take me on as an apprentice I would be over there in a bout two seconds. Cabinetry is great, but I get such a great feeling from doing joinery :D

Anyway that reply was a little all over the place.. I hope it made sense!!
